History
Regeneration Solution’s director Ian Davidson starting working in Natural Resource Management with the Victorian Lands Department in 1982 as a Crown Lands Ranger working in NE Victoria and progressed through the various Victorian Government Departments till 1996 as a Senior Fish and Wildlife Planner, Public Land Manager and later as a project ecologist. During this time Ian developed a strong interest in fish, wildlife and land management.
Ian joined Greening Australia (Environmental NGO) for six years in Albury to run an innovative project aimed at providing landholders throughout NSW Riverina and South West Slopes with expert habitat management advice and provided a fencing and revegetation incentive grant. This project involved several hundred landholders protecting over 30,000ha and was the forerunner of the now accepted government native vegetation management programs run throughout SE Australia. Ian developed a strong working rapport with land managers during this time and honed his knowledge on practical native vegetation management, in particular the role of grazing, weed management and assisted revegetation in habitat enhancement.
